In this project offer set an agenda for studying digital political inequality across societal, technological, institutional, and individual levels. We demonstrate that digital media not only create walls that separate the political haves and have-nots, but also windows and doors to greater political voice and influence for the less powerful.
Human-AI Political Communication
In this project, we develop a model of human-AI political communication to better understand how these technologies will impact political socialization, sensemaking, and inequality.
Groups, Identity, & Digital Media
This set of survey-based studies examine how different dimensions of groups and identities shape our political interactions shape experiences on social media. These studies cover domains such as political engagement on social media, status perceptions, and political humor.
